Description:

United States citizenship is required due to need to pass a US Government-initiated background check for security clearance purposes.

Are you motivated by developing technology that will elevate the abilities of our Intelligence Community and Department of Defense to obtain and safeguard information vital to the security of our country? Are you interested in working on the next generation of computer vision products? If you said, “Yes!” to any of this, then Expedition Technology (EXP) is the place for the next step in your career.

If you join our team, you’ll work on a variety of challenging programs in computer vision including object tracking, feature recognition and scene understanding. You’ll join a motivated, collaborative, creative team that uses Agile methodologies to iterate and develop innovative solutions for our customers. You’ll write code, read research papers, whiteboard solutions with your colleagues, and help turn our novel deep learning models into viable software applications. Your ability to develop and integrate machine learning models into state-of-the-art software applications will be critical to our success.

Want to join us?

We are seeking experienced, inspired engineers with applied computer vision and machine learning experience to join our team. In this role, you will lend your expertise in computer vision, algorithm development and software engineering to a team of engineers as we develop and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms in a variety of environments – from cloud-based systems to low size, weight, and power (SWAP) architectures.

If you believe you are up for the challenge, here’s what you will be doing:

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement computer vision solutions that exploit machine learning, statistical learning, and deep learning for next-generation software solutions
  •  Plan and conduct research in projects related to computer vision, probabilistic modeling, predictive analytics, and content curation
  • Develop and prototype algorithms, models, and analytical tools for solving domain specific problems
  • Take part in the entire project lifecycle from requirements development to deployment
  • Collaborate with technical team on product strategy

If this sounds like an opportunity you’d like to embrace, here’s what you’ll need to succeed:

Required Qualifications:

  • United States Citizenship – must be able to obtain/maintain a US-Government issued security clearance of Top Secret or higher
  • At least five years of hands-on experience as a computer vision engineer, machine learning engineer, or data scientist with at least two years focused on computer vision
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or another computational field
  • Python proficiency
  • Hands on experience working with large imagery data sets including image normalization, image augmentation, raster/vector visualization, etc
  • Experience developing deep learning-based software solutions including developing models in TensorFlow or PyTorch, and Keras
  • Familiarity with some open-source python computer vision libraries such as Scikit-image, Rasterio, OpenCV, Pillow, Shapely, etc. (Need not have experience with all)
  • Ability to create and follow standard software development processes and clearly document results
  • Ability to communicate concepts and analytical results with customers, management, and the technical team

We’d be thrilled if you have:

Preferred (but not required) qualifications:

  • Current knowledge of research literature in computer vision. •
  • Experience working with remote sensing data
  • An active TS/SCI security clearance
