As a Senior Design Engineer in Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE), you will have the opportunity to use hands-on design skills and work on a variety of impactful projects to improve the value of Mammotome's products.

 

All the responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • Provide leadership on a cross-functional project team through all phases of the product development process.  

  • Includes planning and executing projects from concept through the launch and initial production ramp-up.  

  • Supports and/or leads product changes after launch based on defined needs of the business. 

  • Works closely with other members of the team and suppliers (e.g., component, assembly equipment) to develop products with a focus on manufacturability and assembly.  

  • Skilled at leading and accomplishing work through others (e.g., suppliers).  

  • Provides subject matter expertise to the organization across at least one field (e.g., plastics, metals, DFM/A). 

  • Performs component and assembly evaluations and qualifications and leads development of product and process validation plans and testing. 

  • Works with manufacturing and suppliers to produce prototypes and leads activities to optimize designs for manufacturability. 

  • Significantly contributes to aspects of project management including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and contingency planning.  

 

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • Bachelor degree (BS) in mechanical or biomedical engineering (or related field equivalent) with mechanical emphasis. Advanced Degree Preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience;  Engineering development work experience in regulated industry preferred.

  • Demonstrated success leading design change projects that drive product and/or cost improvement is required.

  • Expertise regarding mechanical processes and capabilities that impact design. 

  • Knowledge in the application of design controls and development processes.

  • Understanding of risk assessment activities and risk mitigation techniques; including understanding of requirements and procedures for process risk assessment and validation. 

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks helpful.
