Description:

General Summary:  Assists in pre-sales support activities. Oversees management of assigned ALKAR projects including major customer order review, design, manufacturing, site readiness, allocated resources, installation and integration of any third party products. Acts as primary communication contact with the customer for any project issue resolution.

 Principal Accountabilities:

 

·          Provides support to Sales Team during pre-sales meetings and negotiations to ensure customer understands the project implementation process, timelines and roles and responsibilities of project team.

·        Participates in the quotation/proposal process and ensures all ordering is consistent with the agreed upon quotes.

·        Provides overall management of project team including order review, project planning, resource scheduling and coordination (manpower, material), site specific system configuration design, implementation of ALKAR system and system integration, start up and turnover to customer.

·        Participate in weekly project management meetings to address various project objectives including budgeted cost control, deadline, delivery, quality and customer commitments.

·        Prepares project reports for management, client and team members and documents reasons ahead or behind schedule.

·        Manages customer satisfaction and customer quality issues. Carries out in-depth research on all cost of quality issues. Mediates any conflicts and escalates issues to appropriate senior management, as appropriate.

·        Develops, maintains and utilizes standards, tools, templates and documentation to facilitate effective project management. Identifies and incorporates industry best practices.

·        Mentors project team members.

·        Conducts technical assessments and customer site audits to ensure systems are properly deployed per contractual requirements and customer needs.

·        Manages contract interpretation and related change orders.

·        Performs other duties as assigned by V.P. of Operations.

·        Ensures timely delivery and installation of the project.  Constantly measures critical deliverables throughout the project life cycle

·        Manages projects that generate between 20 to 50 million in annual revenue.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

·        Business Administration or Project Management degree.

·        Minimum three years of customer field support operations support experience or project management experience requiring customer interface.

·        Strong interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.

·        Working knowledge of ALKAR products and general food processing understanding.

·        Proficient with Microsoft office and work knowledge of AutoCAD software.

Scope Data (budget accountability, operating revenues, organizational unit responsibility, number of employees supervised, other pertinent numeric data):

·          Manages projects that generate $15-20 million in annual revenue.

 Description of physical working environment:

 

·          Works primarily in normal office environment, regularly from a sitting position at a computer. Frequent use of phone.

·          Visits manufacturing area regularly to monitor project progress, which requires extensive walking and standing on concrete floors.

·          Visits customer field sites, which requires climbing stairs, climbing on equipment, working in extreme temperatures etc.

·          Domestic and international travel requires valid drivers license and passport.
