Position Description:

DZYNE has an immediate need for a talented Government Buyer who will join our industry leading team in Orange County, CA. In this role you will support DCMA compliant purchasing procedures throughout the company as well as maintain auditable records of all procurement actions. You will ensure records include an audit trail of acquisition, competition, justification, evaluation, award, and closeout.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executed entire procurement cycle including compiling information and records to draw up purchase orders for procurement of materials and services in support of a DCMA - CPSR compliant purchasing system.
  • Plan, execute and coordinate buying tasks for materials, products, and services.
  • Develop business relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to manage performance, quality improvement, productivity and service level including master service agreements for appropriate terms and conditions.
  • Manage vendor issues.
  • Ensure that all purchase orders contain all required information, signatures, and documentation.
  • Maintain thorough working knowledge of procurement statues, regulations and laws to ensure the Company follows Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other state, local, and federal laws.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent study and 3-5 + years’ work experience in Procurement for Government Contracting.
  • Solid working knowledge of FAR Part 44 and the CPSR guidelines. Use of FAR part 12,13,15, and 52.
  • Writing skills must be adequate to write and make the necessary reports and correspondence.
  • Good working knowledge of supply management and operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to interface with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on area assigned.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Good planning, time management and organization skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with Company personnel and suppliers.
  • Ability to use computers to prepare appropriate reports and documents.
  • Proficiency in use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database development programs (such as Word, Excel, and ERP systems). MS Dynamics NAV bonus.
  • Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.
  • C.P.M. / CPSM / CSCP or other certifications desired

 

The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated where the employee may sit comfortably to do the work.  Some walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment. 

 

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • May require the ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires periods of non\-traditional hours including nights or weekends when necessary.
  • Work required on-site with possible remote times as approved by manager.
