Position Description:

DZYNE Technologies is building a highly skilled team that thrives in the design, development, test and manufacturing of intelligent, autonomous vehicles. The candidate will work at our Vehicle Design Studio developing and manufacturing projects with the highest degree of commitment to quality and efficiency. This position will be responsible for leading the development of systems engineering to capture architecture baselines, accelerating systems engineering efforts on new capability development programs, and working as part of a team driving the transformation to best practices within the enterprise.

 

The DZYNE Technologies team is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer that will be responsible for leading a team of engineers through the successful development and maturation of a rapidly growing family of unmanned aerial vehicles. Successful candidate must have excellent communication skills as frequent interactions with the customers are expected. Candidate must be able to provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of system engineers in the areas of aircraft systems, weapons systems, and Model-Based Systems Engineering. Candidate must be a team player capable of applying their experience and leadership to add value to the engineering plan and approach.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage execution of defined systems engineering scope of work to cost, schedule and technical baseline.
    • Development and execution of test procedures for system checkout
    • Configuration Management
  • Collaborate with functional leads from other engineering disciplines throughout the product lifecycle
  • Support workforce planning
  • Support Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Support development of strategies for future enhancements with a focus on affordability

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) from an accredited university.
  • At least 5 years Systems engineering experience in aerospace or related technology field with at least 3 years experience leading a small team of engineers in a product development setting.
  • Experience taking products from concept through detailed design, build and test.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio for documentation, communication and presentation of work products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and integrating new capabilities into existing military aircraft systems.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with the following standards a plus:
    • MIL-STD-810 or DO-160 for aircraft environmental engineering.
  • Experience integrating solutions into military aircraft systems.
  • Experience with integrating communication systems into military aircraft (interfaces and protocols).
  • Experience with the Microchip PIC family embedded systems a plus.

Typical Education/Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) from an accredited university.
  • At least 5 years engineering experience in aerospace or related technology field with at least 3 years experience leading a small team of engineers in a product development setting.
