Our Company's IT Engineering group is seeking a highly motivated individual responsible for developing and managing solution architecture in the Research Labs (RL) division reporting into a divisional architect lead. The key focus area for this role is across the research and development sciences organizations.
In this role, the individual will:
Lead and design platform architecture that will enable best-in-class IT capabilities.
Develop strategic product vision including: current state architecture, future state architecture and capability maturity view which aligns to business and IT outcomes, and develop the implementation strategy and plan consisting of year over year transitional architectures and implementation roadmaps.
Partner with IT value, product, and delivery organizations to understand business outcomes and business strategy to align future state architecture to match the vision.
Maintain strong relationships with key vendors, influence vendor’s strategic roadmaps, and provide transparency around platform roadmaps.
Drive high-level design of strategic global solutions to enable new opportunities through proof-of-concept efforts, industry benchmarking and coalitions.
Understand and explore industry technologies that are available, in-use, or coming soon.
Ensure systems are compliant with IT risk management process and SDLC methodologies.
Familiarity with a wide variety of applications, database, API, cloud, and hardware infrastructure platforms.
Contribute to our company's enterprise architecture communities to facilitate knowledge sharing and build a common architecture principles and guidelines.
10+ years of technical architecture, solution delivery, or technical analysis experience in the IT industry.
Proven success in driving and maintaining architectural roadmaps focused on business capability enablement.
Strong system architecture skills with analytical thinking for problem solving is essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with both a technical and a business audience.
Strong analytical thinker and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a broad level of partners including off-shore development teams as well as functional area managers.
Strong organization, influencing, and follow up skills are also critical for this role.
Strong collaboration and teamwork experience.
Knowledge of managing strategic vendor capabilities and product/technology roadmaps.
Experience with one or more solution architecture frameworks.
Knowledge and experience with Application development, testing and implementation in external hosting and cloud environments is a plus.
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience with research business capabilities and technologies including sample management, electronic notebook, electronic data capture, data management and archiving, LIMS, data integration tools, and business reporting tools.
