The Product Manager for Modeling and Simulation Products will be part of the Scientific data consumption product team. The Product Manager is accountable for the ultimate success of the whole product experience including build, deployment, and user education, combined with communications, product positioning, and managing the expectations of stakeholders. In this role, they will work with other product managers, technical teams, SMEs and stakeholders.
The Product Manager needs a deep knowledge of users and the business, primarily how the business works and how it measures value. The Product Manager will drive and measure how the product is positioned, utilized, and generates value, and what are the various costs and considerations of maintaining and supporting the products. This means comprehending the priorities of various stakeholders, the dynamics of the ecosystem the products operate in, and the economics of the products.
The Scientific Data Consumption Product Line (SDC) provides a combination of technology, infrastructure, software, and personnel to support large scale scientific data consumption and computing comprising of the Scientific Data Platform, Modeling and Machine Learning Platforms, High Performance Computing (HPC) workflows, and “experience” products such as visualization, modeling workbenches, and analytics development environments.
Education Minimum:
B.Sc. or higher in scientific domain or computer sciences
Prerequisites:
Minimum 5-10 years working with customers to define requirements, preferably in the sciences/pharmaceutical industry
Proven experience overseeing all elements of product development lifecycle, including developing and maintaining detailed project plans from discovery/UX to delivery
Identify and define business problems, and translate into actionable requirements and tasks
Demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users
Be able to work independently, anticipating and resolving problems
Has managed multiple complex experience design and development projects simultaneously
Preferred:
Domain knowledge or familiarity with Machine Learning Platforms (e.g. Sagemaker and DataBricks)
Pharmaceutical modeling and simulation in chemistry, pharmacometrics (pk/pd), and data sciences
Pharmaceutical drug discovery and pre-clinical development experience
Has worked in Agile software development
Familiarity with Cloud based software and terms

Develop and maintain a high level of technical product knowledge and specific domain expertise.
Defines the product vision, strategy and roadmap.
Act as the product’s chief advocate within the wider company.
Is a user expert and appreciates the reasons customers use their products.
Can justify new products or improvements to existing products in a value focused manner (e.g. Business Case, ROI etc)
Defines what to solve by articulating the value of problems to be solved, along with priorities and justification for each part of the solution.
Gathers, manages, and prioritizes product requirements* that detail user problems and needs, technical constraints and strategic objectives.
Develops positioning and communication messages for the product and influences training and other change related activities.
Acts as the customer champion articulating and advocating the user’s needs

Product comparisons, assessments and artifacts for use by a development team
Communication materials conveying the above content
Analysis and evidence to document and communicate the data used to make product decisions
