Global Engineering & Technology (GET) is seeking highly qualified individuals for the position of Declassification Analyst 2 to support the US Department of Energy's Office of Classification.
The Declassification Analyst 2 conducts declassification review and analysis of classified government information relating principally to nuclear weapon technology, naval nuclear propulsion systems, and other similarly sensitive information. This work takes place primarily at the National Declassification Center (College Park, MD) in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, DOE orders, and DOE Office of Classification procedures for Restricted Data (RD), Formerly Restricted Data (FRD), and National Security Information (NSI) technical areas such as:
- Nuclear weapons design, development, testing, production, and deployment
- Special nuclear material (SNM) production technologies
- Nuclear weapons safeguards, security, and transportation
- Chemical and biological defense activities
- Radiological weapons
- Space nuclear reactors
- Naval nuclear propulsion

Experience & Skills:
This is a mid-level Declassification Analyst career position for which highly structured long-term education and training are provided for qualified professionals. This position requires functional, hands-on experience in either nuclear science or nuclear engineering. Individuals with any other relevant skills and experience will also be strongly considered. Candidates must pass a baseline pre-employment skills assessment test (reading comprehension and critical thinking).
Although this position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, physical science, or nuclear science from an accredited university or college, graduates of the Navy Nuclear Power School are urged to apply regardless of their academic major. Individuals with any other relevant experience in nuclear weapon or nuclear reactor technology will also be strongly considered. Individuals with National Lab or Military Lab experience (fellowship, etc.) are highly encouraged to apply.
