·      The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB) is an independent Federal agency established by Congress to provide safety oversight of the defense nuclear complex operated by the Department of Energy (DOE) and to assure that the activities of the complex are carried out in a manner that provides adequate protection for the public and workers. 

As a Resident Inspector, the individual is primarily responsible for monitoring day to day activities at a nuclear facaility. The incumbent receives general direction and guidance on project objectives, limits, work plans, and conclusions. Conducting on-site oversight of the design, construction, and operation and decommissioning activities at a nuclear facility. 

       The general experience needed: Applying nuclear safety standards and safety regulations; Formulating techincal/administrative solutions to assess nuclear policies, procedures and methods; Inspecting engineering issues at nuclear facilities.
