Let's start with who we are: Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies. As the non-traditional 6th prime, we're developing entirely new clean sheet designs. We aren't designing upgraded parts of an existing system. We are immersed in technology and we are technology driven.
As a Systems Engineer specialized in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), you will be responsible for Systems Engineering across a business area that focuses on programs for our US warfighters. The tasking is similar to what you've done before. But the difference is that you're working in a completely different culture and mission mindset. Our team sizes are smaller, allowing for collaboration, great ideas, and contribution from all levels in an agile product development environment. In other words, you're not stove-piped into one area, and instead can work the entire engineering lifecycle. You get to solve hard problems. Your day is spent working on new and exciting technology and methodology that hasn't been done before. You're inspired to do your best work every day, because what we do matters!
Essential Functions:
- Implementation of MBSE artifacts and Digital Analysis Tools
- Implement current processes and methodologies being utilized on programs for the development of program level data threads and system models
- Present on model implementation and usage to new users, consumers, and leaders
- Develop the architecture for the integrated systems and test model
- Oversee all modeling activities, set run rules for model development
- Requirements definition, flow-down and traceability for complex electronic systems
- System design synthesis of complex electronic systems
- Perform trade studies on a variety of system issues and components
- Present results during internal and external program meetings
- Obtain and maintain additional duties as required
- Travel up to 10%
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizen
- Holds an existing DoD clearance with a current 6-year update
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
- 2 years of experience in a related engineering field with some systems engineering experience
- Previous experience in an Model-Based System Engineering environment
- Experience in design, development and/or testing of radar and/or other RF system
- Experience with radar system components including antenna, receiver, exciter, and processor
- Experience with requirements definition, flow-down and traceability
- Defense industry experience
- Working knowledge of military standards
- Proficient with MBSE tools (Magic Draw or Rational Rhapsody)
- Proficiency in SysML and DODAF/UPDM/UAF
- Microsoft Office experience
- Able to travel up to 10%
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Master's degree is highly desired
- Familiarity with guided weapons and/or weapon systems
- Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, specifically Confluence
- Proficient with MATLAB
- EVMS
