What you will do –

This is a 15 month contract role.

As the Inbound Distribution Supervisor you will provide overall leadership, support, and expertise to the Distribution Team through organizing resources, providing priority management, and ensuring performance metrics are met. You will support the team through hiring and development of talent, evolution of the team to meet and exceed changing business needs in conjunction with the Manager, Distribution, development, and achievement of KPIs, and ensuring processes and policies are followed. In this role you will be a contributing member of the Operations Leadership Team while championing Stryker’s Mission and Values.

Additional responsibilities:

• Facilitate the development of a high performing team by coaching and leading direct reports, providing development and growth opportunities, organizing resources, and providing priority management ensuring performance metrics are met
• Contribute to strategic decision-making and support/manage the smooth delivery of strategic initiatives, other projects, and day-to-day execution. Ensure that key stakeholders are engaged in business improvement activities, including implementation and adoption
• Be responsible for identifying continuous process improvement opportunities and driving solutions through the team while increasing team engagement and development
• Build and maintain exceptional employee engagement throughout the department. Conduct employee engagement sessions annually, and create and execute action plans based on these sessions
• Conduct annual performance reviews and interim performance reviews. Oversee individualized training and development plans for high performing direct reports
• Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and developing training programs for new hires to the team
• Proactively collaborate with internal teams/departments to promote a culture of inclusiveness and cooperation
• Conduct regular 1:1 meeting and lead weekly team meetings to provide direction, ensure day to day alignment, address issues and provide solutions, and acknowledge exceptional performance through timely recognition
• Develop and align technologies and workflow strategies to address customer needs and key business plans
• Lead weekly departmental meetings to review activity, address issues and prioritize daily/weekly tasks for the team
• Address escalated issues from the Distribution Team with the Operations Management Team
• Ensure that all team members act in compliance with Stryker Canada Safety and Quality standards
• Ensure all members of the Team are acting in accordance with OSHA guidelines and policies
• Perform root cause analysis, corrective action, and troubleshooting duties using A3 Problem Solving Methodologies
• Participate in the Distribution annual budget review
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

What you need –

• Post-secondary education required, preferred within Supply Chain/Operations
• 4+ years of experience in Operations/Supply Chain
• 2+ years of leadership experience with a focus on people development required
• Strong analytical skills required
• Experience managing a large manufacturing/distribution facility – highly preferred
• Experience with Oracle or other ERP system – highly preferred
