Position Specific Description
Looking for an individual to join our wind fleet controls and SCADA team. The position will include reviewing original OEM turbine control code and making recommendations for changes that will increase wind turbine performance and availability without compromising safety or component life, participating in wind turbine controller retrofit projects, and developing wind site park level controls.
Candidates should have 5-7 years of hands on experience in wind turbine control code writing, maintenance, or turbine simulation. A strong understanding of all aspects of a wind turbine are required including; mechanical loads, electrical theory, structural integrity, instrumentation, controls, and communication. Familiarity with risk management is a must. The candidate must be able to develop FMEA’s and be able to work with data analysts to determine the financial impact of turbine failure modes. The candidate must have experience in developing root cause analysis.
Candidates must have experience in developing and troubleshooting logic written in function block diagrams and structured text. XML knowledge is a plus.
Communication troubleshooting abilities are desired. A strong candidate will have experience using WireShark or other communication analysis software.
Six sigma Green Belt is strongly desired.
Employees in this role have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of areas for investigation, and development of novel concepts.
