Candidate Guidance For The SACC Job Fair

WHY ATTEND:

SACC job fairs are hosted in local venues where candidates and employers can meet in a relaxed setting without the pressure of a formal interview;
SACC job fairs offer candidates the opportunity to interface with Fortune 100 companies, Defense Contractors and Federal Agencies;
SACC job fairs allow candidates to network with other academy grads employed with companies hiring through the SACC;
SACC job fairs provide a venue for candidates to personally hand their resumes to corporate recruiters making hiring decisions;
SACC job fairs enable you to make hundreds of company contacts that may have taken years to make on your own.

JOB FAIR TIPS:

• Research the companies you are interested in – visit their website and search their career opportunities; Find something that interests you;
• Build your resume to reflect your qualifications and career goals – be sure to highlight your skills and experience; Keep resumes to one page;
• Work the job fair – ask about positions you are qualified for; Collect business cards from each recruiter you speak with – follow up later;
• Dress as you would for an interview – suit and tie for men; Business suit for women; A good first impression may land you an interview;
• Smile, be personable and positive, make eye contact, firm hand shake, good posture;
• Bring extra copies of your resume – hand a copy to recruiters as you meet with them at their booth.
